Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy treatment for easing discomfort, restoring balance and sustaining health through a refined, ancient art of hands-on-healing. The term Reiki is a combination of the Japanese words "Rei "(spiritually guided), and "Ki" (energy or force). Reiki works by restoring the body to a state of balance. When this balance is achieved, overall physical health is improved. Wounds heal faster, pain and illness can be reduced. It can also serve as a preventative measure, maintaining a state of optimum health.

Reiki promotes a state of total relaxation and is an extremely pleasant, holistic treatment. Reiki helps to release energy blockages and increase energy flow in the body. Reiki is now being widely used in hospitals and other health care settings as its healing benefits are becoming widely recognized and appreciated. Reiki is very gentle and non-invasive and can be used for individuals with serious illnesses, or injuries and those looking to maintain both mental and physical health and is also effective on children.

Reiki Treatment

Sessions are offered, in a serene, peaceful setting with soothing music for a truly relaxing experience. Reiki is performed on a treatment table while the recipient is fully clothed. Reiki is a pleasurable and relaxing treatment. Most individuals report a feeling of deep relaxation. Some describe feeling a warm tingling or pulsating sensation from the practitioner’s hands. It is not uncommon for individuals to fall asleep during treatment and feel refreshed upon waking.

The Reiki practitioner completes a series of hand placements. While there are standard positions, practitioners will often adapt or add new ones depending on a client's needs. This positive energy enters one’s body, mind and spirit and therefore, treats the whole person creating many beneficial effects.
